Our Process
Consultation
This first step usually takes place at the client’s home (but it can be done in our store as well). The consultation will involve lots of asking and answering questions, and engaging in a detailed discussion about your preferences for color, fabrics, and furniture style. It helps tremendously for us to visit your home so that we can consider the house as a whole and help ensure that individual rooms and spaces will flow and coordinate. We’ll spend some time going through your home, taking notes, measurements, and possibly photos. The consultation is also an ideal time to discuss your design budget and time frame for the project.
Presentation
After the initial consultation, we’ll begin developing a design scheme individually tailored to you and your specifications. Fabrics and colors are chosen, furniture styles are selected, and the floor plan is created. Then it’s time for you to see your design plan! During the presentation, we’ll show you specific fabrics, colors, furniture, window treatment styles, and more – everything that’s needed to illustrate the design plan that we have created for your home. We’ll show you pricing for each recommended item. And this is a great time to ask questions and weigh in on the process. If there’s something not quite to your liking, perhaps a fabric or color scheme, just let us know – everything can be modified to suit your preferences. An additional meeting might be necessary to fine-tune the design proposal, based on your feedback.
Ordering & Installation
At this point, you can give us the go-ahead to move forward on as much or as little of the plan as you wish. We’ll work out the details for your 50% deposit and then begin to place orders. A detailed plan for project implementation is drawn up. As your project may require the use of outside vendors and workrooms, please keep mind the time required for production – particularly on custom orders. If you are up against time constraints, please let us know; we’ll do everything we can to help accommodate your deadline and bring your design dream to life as efficiently as possible.
