MOTHER’S DAY GIFT IDEAS
Mother’s Day is just around the corner! Let’s be honest, mom can be one of the hardest people to buy for. It’s easy to play it safe with another coffee mug. Let’s get creative with Mother’s Day 2021 and get mom a gift that will make her smile and feel appreciated!
FLOWER SUBSCRIPTION
Who doesn’t love keeping fresh flowers in the home? If your mom is a flower lover, buy her a subscription to a monthly flower subscription.
Here are some of our favorites:
THROW PILLOW
A new throw pillow to add to the couch is a great way to brighten mom’s day! You can buy according to her style or according to the season. Take note of colors and patterns that she uses in the room to make sure her new throw pillow doesn’t distract from her personal taste. Or, buying a seasonal pillow to match the spring time is a safe route to take when choosing the perfect pillow! Floral patterned throw pillows will almost always do the trick!
CANDLES
If you’ve already purchased a gift, candles make a great add-on if you want to add an extra touch. Small scented candles for smaller spaces (bathroom, office, etc.) or large candles for larger areas (living rooms, bedroom, etc.) are guaranteed to make mom smile!
PICTURE
Does your mom have a favorite picture of you or the grandkids? Get it printed and framed! Pick a frame that you feel best matches your mom’s style and personality. A bonus touch would be writing her a small note describing why you chose that picture and/or that frame! Knowing the “why” adds sentimental value and reminds mom of a story every time she looks at the picture!
DISH TOWEL
Dish towels are another great add-on gift! Like the picture frame, pick out a dish towel that speaks to your mom’s personality. If there’s a saying she says all the time, find a dish towel with that saying, or get a custom one made while there’s still time!
CUTTING BOARD
It’s something she’ll use often and think of you every time she does! Buying a nice wooden cutting board that can double as a display item on the kitchen counter adds extra functionality to this gift. Getting it personalized with a sweet message just for mom can add extra meaning!
FLOWER POT OR VASE
Bonus points if you fill the vase/pot with beautiful flowers! If your mom isn’t a huge fan of flowers, go the fake plant or greenery route.
SERVING TRAY
Serving trays can serve multiple purposes. Some people use them as coffee table decor, others use them to serve drinks and other food items. Buy mom a serving tray that will look good doing both!

Having a dedicated work space is almost essential in today’s world. Your home office should inspire productivity and help you look forward to the work day! Unfortunately, our home office can be a distraction zone. Maybe there’s too much clutter, files that need to be organized, and before you know it your mind slowly drifts to what needs to be done to your work space instead of what needs to be done for work! In this blog, we’re going to give you 5 decor tips for your home office and looking forward to hammering out that to-do list at your new and improved space.
1. Getting Organized
Keep it simple. Don’t worry about tackling the junk drawer or the pile of papers that need to be filed away. Start with something small, like buying a cup to put the extra pens in. Drawer organizers and desktop file organizers are a great way to clear the work clutter.
2. Shelves and Cubbies
Shelves and cubbies help fill in the empty space on walls and work GREAT for storage purposes. We recommend buying small decorative storage baskets to store away any small items that add to the clutter of your work area. Shelves are also great for displaying some of your favorite inspiration pieces (which we’ll talk about in #5).
3. Bold vs. Minimal
If you’re more of the creative type and love to be surrounded by color, don’t be afraid to be BOLD with your colors! We recommend finding your color palette and buying accessories that bring you happiness.
If you’re more of a minimalist, neutral colors are always an excellent aesthetic for your work space. Keeping the larger items (desk, shelves, etc.) a lighter color, like white, will make other neutral colors (beige, gray, etc.) pop more than they would on a darker surface.
4. Add Greenery
Adding greenery to ANY space in your home gives new life. Real or fake, bring some plants into your work area and watch it immediately shift the mood of the room. Display your plants in clear vases, metallic containers, shelf terrariums, or hang them from the ceiling!
5. Getting Inspired
This is where your personality can really begin to shine in your work space! Consider making a dream board and having it on display in your home office. The dream board helps you remember your “why” while you’re working away at your desk. You can also opt for a gallery wall of your favorite art pieces to bring extra pops of color. Printing inspirational quotes and framing them is an inexpensive way to put inspiration on the wall. However you decide to decorate your home office, make sure it feels like YOU! It’s tough to get inspired in a space that does not feel like your taste and personality. Make sure your work space feels the most like you, however that may look!
